Hastie, LLC (also known as Hastie Mining & Trucking) is a family-owned mining and transportation company based in the Illinois-Kentucky Fluorspar District in Hardin County, Illinois.
The business started mining fluorspar in 1965 with $500, three shovels, determination and a willingness to work by Robin and his two sons, Donald and Robert Hastie. Hastie Mining entered the aggregate business in 1984. H and G Limestone, LLC opened in 2007 adding rock dust/industrial mineral filler to our list of products. In 2025, our plant was upgraded and a new administrative building/training center was added.
Six decades later, Hastie is a 3rd generation owned company with the 4th generation active in managing operations and is in the top 100 aggregate producers in the country and the only domestic supplier of fluorspar. Our company foundation remains unchanged and is rooted in family, community and carrying forward a legacy.
The current ownership includes Robert Hastie and Don’s daughter, Kim Watson and her husband, Jimmy. Hastie is a true family business with family members involved in active management.
Operations include quarry stone, crushed stone and fluorspar mining. Products and services include the following: acid and meturagical grade fluorspar, aggregates (including lime, rip rap, Rosiclare skid rock/sandstone, driveway rock), trucking, barge loading and unloading and blending and processing of materials. Our unique location allows shipping via truck, river or rail.
In late 2025, Hastie Mining installed a McLanahan MaxCap 1650 Primary Impact Crusher. The MaxCap design is a combination of well-known impact crusher styles, featuring a large expansion chamber indicative of the New Holland type crusher — a design that Hastie Mining was familiar with and liked, with the ease of maintenance common to Andreas type crushers. The 1650 model boasts a 65” wide feed opening and can process up to 1,650 tons per hour, discharging at 6” minus. Watch the video below to learn more.
